In 2018, land for the market garden was purchased, fenced and cleared. towards the end of 2019, funds were raised to construct the caretakers house, pens for the animals and a water source. In early 2020, the garden will be planted with matooke (a form of banana) and passion fruit.
The aim of this project is to provide an income for those engaged on it but also to return a profit which will fund the continuation of the nursery school in future years. It will take approximately two years for the garden to be fully established and productive and we therefore expect it to fund the nursery school from 2022 onwards.
We will be spending £4681 on the Market Garden Project in 2020
